The role of Project Management is to successfully orchestrate the project from start to finish within the time frame and budget. It can be underestimated the complexity of requirements in order to manage a project effectively and efficiently and this is something that we recognise. Below are some examples from our Project Managers that may help you to better approach projects in the future.
Every project is different. Some projects have a more simplistic approach whilst others can turn your schedule upside down. After multiple projects, you become accustomed to this and adapt your approach as experience comes into play.
Our Regulatory Project Managers have managed over 500 Regulatory projects in the last 5 years. Each project has allowed them to utilise their skills and also learn new ones, whilst learning from past mistakes.
Below are 4 useful tips which could benefit you for future projects.
Tip 1: Preparation
Before commencing with work on the project, you have to understand the goal of the project. After that, you can start to define the project in its simplest form by carefully reviewing the:
By splitting the project up into small building blocks, you can build a solid foundation for the rest of the project. It allows you to create a plan and approach all tasks in a structured manner. This way, you can gather all the details and the journey will be smoother.
Additionally, it is equally as important to review all information provided and in case of any doubts, get clarification to avoid uncertainties, inconveniences and delays.
Tip 2: Organize and Prioritize
It is important to evaluate the project and figure out which tasks can be done immediately in comparison to tasks that can wait. Whilst a good project manager will assess the planning details, a great one understands which detailed tasks are most important and as a result, prioritizes the tasks in their preferred order.
Software tools are always very useful at this stage. Many Project Managers like to use tools such as Microsoft Project. Here at Arriello, we use a dedicated cloud based Project Management tool that allows us to manage the project in an efficient and organized way from clear and concise communication to accurate client billing. Moreover, because it is cloud-based, it means we have maximum flexibility in access from the right people in any place.
Tip 3: Stay Informed
It is always important to stay up to date with the guidelines in your chosen field. As we work in a regulated environment, we need to consistently review the latest:
This ensures that we are as prepared as possible for any project, no matter the type. Depending on the particular project, we sometimes have to work with MENA, CIS or LATAM countries. This means that we have to stay informed consistently and follow such guidelines, not only the big ones such as EMA (European Medicines Agency) or FDA (Food & Drug Administration) but also those national guidelines that govern countries in such regions as mentioned above. By staying informed, we save time and ensure that we get it right first time as the knowledge is already there.
Tip 4: Evaluate the project once it is complete
Once the project is completed, it is important to do an analysis report, even if it is for internal reasons. This way, you can:
The four above tips are a few “quick wins” things that some of our members have stated consistently help them along the way. We ensure that we approach every project with care and deliver the same consistency throughout. This results in satisfaction both for the client and Arriello. Ultimately, Project Management is all about communication, planning and using your time efficiently. At Arriello, we can ensure that you will get a personalised tailored approach to your request.
