Vladimír Hrib
Global Drug Safety Associate and Project Manager

Vladimír is a qualified pharmacist who obtained his Pharmacy degree in Slovakia and later earned a PharmDr. degree in the Czech Republic. He spent more than ten years working in community pharmacy, with over half of that time serving as a Pharmacy Manager, where he was responsible for both patient care and pharmacy operations.

Driven by a desire to work within an international environment and contribute more directly to the development, safety, and lifecycle management of medicinal products, Vladimír transitioned into pharmacovigilance and joined Arriello in 2020.

Today, his role combines regulatory intelligence, project management, local processes such as LPPV and LLM services and process ownership. A significant part of his work focuses on monitoring regulatory developments, assessing their impact, and ensuring effective implementation of new requirements across client projects and internal processes. He is also involved in leading operational initiatives and managing projects that support business growth and compliance objectives.

As Process Owner for Vendor Training Management, Vladimír is particularly passionate about process improvement. He enjoys identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, strengthen audit readiness, enhance service quality, and develop practical solutions that create long-term value for both clients and internal teams.

Beyond his core responsibilities, Vladimír plays an active role in knowledge sharing across the organization and beyond. He is the author of the Boring Lance series, which focuses on simplifying and communicating complex regulatory and pharmacovigilance topics in an engaging way for a broader professional audience.

Tell us about a day in the life of a Global Drug Safety Associate and Project Manager?

No two days are ever the same. My work combines regulatory intelligence, project management, process ownership, and operational improvement initiatives.

A typical day may involve reviewing regulatory updates from global health authorities, coordinating regulatory intelligence activities across multiple countries, leading implementation projects, or working with stakeholders to improve internal processes. I also spend significant time designing and updating procedures, supporting compliance activities, managing deviations, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and technology.

What I enjoy most is the variety. One hour I might be analyzing a new regulatory requirement, and the next I am mapping a new workflow or discussing process improvements with colleagues from different departments.

What do you like best about your role?

The aspect I enjoy most is continuous improvement.

I am particularly interested in process optimization and finding smarter ways of working. Whether it is redesigning a workflow, developing a new SOP, implementing automation, or analyzing deviations, I enjoy understanding how things work and how they can work better.

Deviations and process gaps are often seen as problems, but I see them as opportunities. They help us identify areas where we can improve our service, strengthen quality, and ultimately deliver a better experience for our clients.

What trends do you see within regulatory intelligence and compliance?

The biggest trend is undoubtedly the growing use of automation, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision-making.

Regulatory requirements continue to evolve at an increasing pace, making it more important than ever to collect, analyze, and distribute intelligence efficiently. Organizations are looking for ways to reduce manual effort while maintaining quality and compliance. However, it is important to always remember that human knowledge, expertise, interpretation, and validation are as vital as ever. Don’t forget the human-in-the-loop!

At the same time, there is a stronger focus on integrating regulatory intelligence directly into operational processes, ensuring that regulatory changes translate into practical actions and measurable outcomes.

What is unique about working for Arriello?

What makes Arriello unique is the opportunity to contribute beyond a single role or service line.

The organization encourages people to take ownership, bring forward new ideas, and actively improve the way we work. This creates an environment where innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement are genuinely valued.

For me personally, it has provided opportunities to work on a diverse range of projects, collaborate with experts across multiple disciplines, and help shape processes that support both our teams and our clients worldwide.
